Janet Cramer, PhD, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
Both an administrator and a scholar, Janet Cramer earned her PhD in Mass Communication, with a minor in Feminist Studies, and brings many years of higher education experience to Naropa. Before her arrival at Naropa, Janet worked as Associate Provost for Assessment and Instruction, as well as Professor in the School of Communications and Media Studies, at Florida Atlantic University. She has also held many academic and administrative posts at the University of New Mexico, including Dean of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Women’s Studies, and the Director of the Preparing Future Faculty Program. Cramer also spent nine years in Rochester, Minnesota as Director of Communications for the Sisters of Saint Francis—a spiritual community working internationally in the areas of education, arts, health care, homelessness, peace and justice, and ecology.
