Religious Studies

Religious Studies // Bachelor of Arts

The Religious Studies bachelor's degree at Naropa University is a timely and relevant course of study that allows you to take a comparative look at contemporary religions while also experiencing their contemplative aspects.

Because you will study the world's great wisdom traditions in the context of a Buddhist-inspired university (Naropa's Religious Studies major requires no religious background or belief structure), you will have the chance to become especially knowledgeable about the history and meditative practices of different forms of Buddhism. You will also have the opportunity to learn about and experience the mystical practices of Christianity, Judaism, Islam and Hinduism.

This kind of intellectual and experiential training offers excellent preparation for graduate school, law school, social work, journalism and even business. It also gives you the intellectual and communication skills necessary to beautifully articulate the ideas and practices that unite humanity's attempts to connect with the divine.
