Vision for Peace Studies

The Peace Studies major at Naropa University is rooted in the wisdom that inner peace and a person’s ability to bring about peace in the world are interrelated. Lives of peacemakers as well as the history of nonviolent liberation movements reveal that the work of making peace can be harsh and lonely. Peace Studies stresses the importance of inner work, and it seeks to prepare students to gain a fuller sense of their inner being even as they explore political realities out in the world.
