My fundamental approach to therapy is Rogerian/Contemplative (and I’ve had training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive approaches, somatic-based trauma/PTSD work). I work by cultivating a therapeutic relationship based on trust, respect, empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness. This fosters the conditions in which clients are encouraged to understand and appreciate themselves more deeply, to heal past hurts and to make positive changes in their lives. I emphasize awareness and acceptance as first steps to any positive change. I trust implicitly that we all possess at our core the means to heal and grow. So, one of my goals as a therapist is to support and nurture that. I work with: • Trauma/PTSD • Catastrophic illness • Grief • Life transitions & personal/spiritual growth • LGBTQ • Anxiety/depression • Sexual abuse • Individuals, couples & groups
