Assessment of Distance Learning

How much work does it take to complete the requirements for an online course?

While the amount of time that you’ll dedicate depends on several individual factors, you may expect to spend five to ten hours each week for a 3-credit course. To experience a Naropa online class, please see our Demo Course. Sometimes it takes students a significant amount of time to get used to the technology, and many students perceive that online course work takes longer than that of similar on-campus classes. We recommend that you spend some time in the free, self-paced, noncredit orientation course for students. As with anything else, the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out.

"The most valuable aspects of the course were the high level of openness and respect of the other students. The online classes offer a space for people to open up more than in a regular classroom."
