When the vast network of pain and confusion in the world is experienced, one can become overwhelmed and full of despair. But the Buddhist tradition provides training that allows one to look deeply into this pain and confusion and permits us to discover the awakened and untainted heart available to everyone.
Bodhicitta is a Sanskrit word that means noble or awakened heart. During this weekend, which will be made up of interactive dialogues, talks, and contemplative practices, we will train in bodhicitta in order to become so open that we can take the pain of the world in, let it touch our hearts, and begin to turn it into compassion.
