The Program
Launched in 1999, Naropa’s Authentic Leadership program is a transformative leadership course that integrates ancient wisdom with effective, modern approaches to management. The format encourages deep, personal learning in an environment that makes it possible to assimilate ideas and concepts at an accelerated pace. Online instruction makes it possible to share ideas and participate in group learning from anywhere in the world.

Format
Authentic Leadership is a fifteen–week leadership certificate program that
integrates the best of Western management practices with the wisdom of Eastern
contemplative traditions to provide a transformative learning experience. The
format encourages deep, personal learning, fast assimilation of conceptual
models and practical application in the workplace while enabling participation
from anywhere in the world. It consists of:
- Fifteen weeks of internet-based instruction
- Two five-day on-site seminars
- Online interaction with instructors and colleagues
- Action-learning projects in the workplace
- Individual coaching with experienced professionals
The program integrates important concepts and models from business and leadership authors including: Peter Senge, Otto Scharmer, Linda Gioja, Daniel Goleman, Lisa Laskow Lahey, Mark Gerzon, Chris Argyris, Jim Collins, Rebecca M. Saunders, Bill George, Juanita Brown, Pema Chodron, Joe Jaworski, Robert Kegan, Fred Kofman, Susan Skjei, and John Kotter.

The fee for the fifteen-week program is $5,200 (travel, lodging and food are not included).
- 10% discount for three or more participants from the same organization
- Early bird discounts available—call for details
- $4,160 for participants from nonprofit organizations
- Early Bird Discount: 20% discount if you register prior to December 1, 2007
- A number of scholarships are available for nonprofit organizations
For Graduate Credit
Authentic Leadership—MAR500e
may be taken for 6 graduate credits or as noncredit professional
development. Documentation is available for tuition reimbursement
programs and for bank loan programs. Naropa University is
accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and
Schools.
The program taken for credit is $5,800 (6 credits).
