Alexandra MacKay Shenpen, PhD, LPC, has been faculty at Naropa for more than twenty years in contemplative psychology, maitri space awareness, ikebana/kado and dharma art emphasizing non-aggression in creative process and contemplative aesthetics. Riji instructor for Sogetsu ikebana, head teacher for Kalapa Ikebana, Boulder. Engaged in private practice as mindfulness-based psychotherapist since 1985. Supervised counseling service at local college for fifteen years, trained many interns, somatic focus in working gently with trauma, dissociative processes, anxiety & wakeful heart. Practitioner of Shambhala Buddhist meditation, ikebana, tea ceremony, brush, and dharma art for life.
