Himmat is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) specializing in the application of creative process and dance choreography in therapy. Himmat produces the Annual Somatic Arts Scholarship Concert in collaboration with Somatic student directors and assistant directors. Himmat has published and co-published journal articles in Body, Movement and Dance in Psychotherapy: An International Journal for Theory, Research and Practice. Himmat is experienced in facilitating Dialectical Behavior Therapy and working with Domestic Violence issues as well as supporting students in their graduate education with professional identity issues.
