For a decade, 1993-2003, John served as the President of the Naropa Institute, and taught as adjunct faulty in the Department of Environmental Leadership. Previously John worked as a partner with a law firm in Boulder, Directed the Legal Aid Foundation in Colorado and Directed the Colorado Coalition of Legal Services Programs and Western Regional Training Center. John also has experience working with the Navajo Legal Services program in New Mexico.  Currently he works on the Advisory Council with the Massachusetts Audubon Society and sits on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Sun Academy. John is an avid bird watcher and aspiring poet.
