Abacus CEO and Author of The Cure for Money Madness
to Speak at Naropa University
BOULDER, Colo. (February 9, 2009)—Spencer Sherman, CEO of Abacus Wealth Partners and the author of The Cure for Money Madness, will be appearing as a guest-lecturer at Naropa University on February 18. The lecture starts at noon and will address the current economic crisis by examining the effect it has had on Wall Street investors, homeowners and students, as well as the poor and homeless populations. Following the event, there will be a question and answer session and a book signing.
Sherman has 20 years of experience as a certified financial planner and wealth advisor and, since 2000, he has lectured, published, consulted and appeared as a financial expert and money guide on radio and television. His work is informed by an ongoing yoga and meditation practice, as well as a commitment to social responsibility. In addition, he has regularly been named as one of the country’s top 100 wealth advisors by Worth magazine.
Sherman was born and raised in New York City. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Brandeis University in 1983, an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1987, and the CFP® designation in 1990. He co-leads workshops for couples and singles called "Financial Intimacy and Freedom" and has been widely quoted in the financial press.
This lecture is free and open to both the Naropa community and to the public. It will be hosted in the Performing Arts Center on the main Arapahoe Campus.
