The Sakyong, Mipham Rinpoche to Teach at Naropa University
Breeze of Simplicity weekend course will explore meditation

BOULDER, Colo. (October 5, 2006)—The Sakyong, Mipham Rinpoche, lineage holder of Naropa University, spiritual director of Shambhala International and bestselling author of “Turning the Mind into an Ally” and “Ruling Your World,” will teach a weekend personal enrichment course at Naropa called “Breeze of Simplicity” on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 17-19.

The course will include lectures by the Sakyong, group meditation and discussion, and meditation instruction. The course will also introduce sitting meditation practice basics from the Tibetan Buddhist/Shambhala tradition, guiding beginner or experienced meditation students in this direct experience of mind.

Students will take advantage of this rare experience to learn about meditation with the son of Naropa University founder Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche. Those interested in taking the course can register online at www.naropa.edu/extend or call the Naropa University Extended Studies Department at (303) 245-4800.

This year’s schedule of personal enrichment workshops also includes October’s Ocean of Dharma, the first annual conference on the teachings of Trungpa.

Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Naropa University is a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian liberal arts institution dedicated to advancing contemplative education. This approach to learning integrates the best of Eastern and Western educational traditions, helping students know themselves more deeply and engage constructively with others. The university comprises a four-year undergraduate college and graduate programs in the arts, education, environmental leadership, psychology and religious studies.
