Naropa University Presents LITFare
Top writers, publishers and editors to divulge secrets at Naropa-sponsored salon series

BOULDER , Colo. (August 28, 2006)— Naropa University hosts the second annual LITFare, a weekend of literary conversation that will teach what it takes to get fiction and poetry published. Featured panelists include an American Book Award-winning poet, publishers who’ve shaped Pulitzer Prize-winning books, the editorial staff of the some of the hottest literary journals in the nation, and writers who’ve appeared in The New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly, and New York Magazine, among others.

The weekend of panel discussions will culminate in a public reading with writers introduced by their editors, including Colorado Poet Laureate Mary Crow. Featuring discussions on the operations of contemporary publishing and advice on how to succeed as a working writer, LITFare is a very literary weekend on the practical and creative sides to the writing life.

The events take place in Naropa University’s Performing Arts Center in the newly restored Lincoln Building at 2130 Arapahoe Ave., in Boulder, Colo., with the exception of the reading, which will occur at the Boulder Bookstore at 1107 Pearl St. Admission grants access to all events all weekend and is $8 for the general public, $4 for Naropa University students and faculty and free to Naropa’s Writing and Poetics students. Those who wish to attend should buy tickets on Friday as space is limited for the Saturday events.

Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Naropa University is a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian liberal arts institution dedicated to advancing contemplative education. This approach to learning integrates the best of Eastern and Western educational traditions, helping students know themselves more deeply and engage constructively with others. The university comprises a four-year undergraduate college and graduate programs in the arts, education, environmental leadership, psychology and religious studies.
