Apply to be a Fellow

The Naropa Writing Center (NWC) is looking for talented and enthusiastic first-year graduate students— FROM ALL DISCIPLINES—interested in becoming writing fellows. We particularly encourage candidates who will contribute to the diversity of the Center to apply.

The NWC is a free service that offers one-on-one writing consultation in a positive, relaxed atmosphere to the Naropa community. The Center also provides quality training and professional development in writing pedagogy to its staff.

Graduate students selected to become fellows are required to take a three-credit hour pedagogy seminar in the fall. The course may be taken for elective credit or audit. Fellows are paid $10/hour; generally, fellows are offered approximately 10 hours per week during their first year.

In the fellow’s second year, other opportunities are offered, such as facilitating writing workshops, providing instructional support, or teaching an undergraduate writing course. These additional opportunities are dependent upon availability, skill, and experience.

Incoming graduate students who are interested in applying can view the job description here. Applications are due by July 31. Interviews will be conducted during fall 09 Orientation Week.

Applications should be mailed to:
