Naropa University 2014-15 Student Injury & Sickness Insurance Plan

Naropa University, in partnership with Aetna is excited to announce the availability of the 2014–15 Student Health Insurance Plan. This plan is underwritten by Aetna Life Insurance Company and will be administered by Chickering Claims Administrators.

The Naropa University Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan provides access to hospitals and health care providers locally and across the country through Aetna

What is the Plan All About?
Your Student Health Insurance Plan offers you access to:

  • Aetna's nationwide network of doctors, hospitals, pharmacies and specialists throughout the country.
  • An award-winning online secure member website, Aetna Navigator®.
  • Unlimited Aggregate Benefit Maximum per policy year.
  • Access to savings on vision, fitness, alternative health care, weight management, books and many more!
  • Travel Assistance Services and Worldwide Medical Coverage while traveling or studying abroad.

Undergraduate Students

All Full-Time degree seeking Undergraduate Naropa University students are required to be covered by a major medical health insurance plan.

Waiving the insurance plan: you can waive the plan if you provide proof of other adequate Health Insurance.The Deadline to waive the insurance for Fall 2014 is Thursday, September 11, 2014.

Enrolling in the insurance plan: You have two options:

  1. Do nothing: You will be automatically enrolled in the Aetna plan If you don't waive the plan by the deadline. Please know that the Naropa-sponsored health insurance plan will remain as part of your tuition and fees to attend the University;
  2. Enroll directly: If you enroll directly at the Aetna site, you will find Aetna services activated sooner than if you wait for Naropa to activate your enrollment after the waiver deadline.

How to enroll/waive the Naropa student health plan online:

  1. Go to www.aetnastudenthealth.com
  2. Type in "Naropa" in the box that says "Find your school" and pick Naropa University
  3. Click on the link for "Enroll/Waive: Student Health Insurance Plan"
  4. Select your Program Type "Graduate or Undergrad" from the drop down menu under Student Information
  5.  In the Secure Log in Section remember to put 4 zeros in front of your student ID#
  6. Fill in your Date of Birth in this format MM/DD/YYYY
  7. Click on Get Started

Your deadline to waive the Naropa University Student Health Insurance Plan is Thursday, September 11, 2014.

Dependents of undergraduate students enrolled in the plan may participate in the plan on a voluntary basis. Eligible dependents include: the spouse—husband, wife or domestic partner—and unmarried children who are either under 19 years of age or, if full-time students themselves at accredited institutions, as old as 24. Eligible dependents must enroll in this plan directly with https://www.aetnastudenthealth.com.

Graduate Students

All Graduate Naropa University students including low residency students are eligible to enroll in this plan on a voluntary basis.

Enrolling in the insurance plan: Enroll directly by going to the Aetna site at https://www.aetnastudenthealth.com and make payment with them directly.

Your deadline to enroll in the Naropa University Student Health Insurance Plan is Thursday, September 11, 2014.
