Campus Safety

Campus Safety

The Department of Safety and Facilities at Naropa University is dedicated to overseeing every facet of the university’s physical plant, including maintenance, landscaping, custodial services, and campus safety. Their mission is to cultivate a secure and nurturing environment where the entire university community can thrive. This objective is realized through the collaborative efforts of the Campus Safety and Facilities staff, along with active participation from the broader community, ensuring a harmonious and well-maintained campus.

Taking responsibility for safeguarding personal belongings is crucial. It’s important to keep bicycles and vehicles securely locked and not leave them unattended on campus overnight. Similarly, ensure that backpacks, purses, and valuables are always kept close and under your supervision. While the Department of Safety and Facilities oversees campus safety, it is a shared responsibility among everyone in the community to contribute to a secure environment. By being vigilant and proactive, we can collectively uphold safety standards and protect both personal belongings and the well-being of our community members.

The Facilities Department at Naropa University plays a critical role in addressing safety concerns across all campuses. They are empowered to enforce Naropa policies and regulations, and remain vigilant for any violations of Boulder city ordinances, as well as state and federal laws. Campus Safety staff are authorized to notify law enforcement about individuals suspected of criminal activity. Moreover, they have the authority to remove from Naropa property any individuals who present an immediate threat to the safety of the Naropa community and others. It is encouraged for all members of the community to actively participate in maintaining a safe environment by promptly reporting any suspicious activities or individuals to the Safety and Facilities Helpline. This collaborative effort ensures a secure and supportive atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth at Naropa University.

The Safety and Facilities Department at Naropa University assumes responsibility for ensuring the security of all buildings on campus. They encourage every member of the community to promptly report any immediate concerns regarding safety. In addition to building security, Naropa staff oversee parking areas, issuing parking tickets when necessary and coordinating vehicle towing when appropriate. The Business Services Center manages the distribution of parking passes and handles payments for parking tickets. For any inquiries or concerns regarding campus safety within the Naropa University community, individuals are urged to reach out directly to the Safety and Facilities Department. They are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all members of the university community.
