Naropa University To Give Away 50 Free Tickets to See the Dalai Lama

September 14, 2015 (Boulder, CO)—

Naropa University, the country’s first Buddhist-inspired university and recognized leader in contemplative education, today announced that it is giving away 50 free tickets to see His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, during his sold-out visit to Boulder on October 21st.  Naropa University will conduct an online sweepstakes that will be open and free to the public.

Naropa University will launch the online sweepstakes beginning today at 2pm MDT, and will close the application process on October 2.  Registration for the free tickets is available exclusively at www.naropa.edu.

Naropa University will also open its doors to the public on October 21 for live viewing parties of His Holiness’ addresses via live stream, and will welcome visitors to its Performing Arts Center at its main Arapahoe Campus and the Events Center at its Nalanda Campus. Details on the viewing parties will be shared on Naropa’s Facebook page and its website.

“Naropa University is proud to extend this special opportunity to see the Dalai Lama to our friends and neighbors throughout Boulder and Colorado,” said Bill Rigler, Director of University Relations at Naropa. “The Dalai Lama last visited Boulder 18 years ago, and we want to do everything we can to ensure that his message of compassion in action can be shared by as many people as possible.”

The Dalai Lama’s visit to Colorado is being sponsored by the Tibetan Association of Colorado. Naropa University is also providing 300 tickets free of charge to its students, faculty, and staff.

Naropa Campuses Closed on Friday, March 15, 2024

Due to adverse weather conditions, all Naropa campuses will be closed Friday, March 15, 2024.  All classes that require a physical presence on campus will be canceled. All online and low-residency programs are to meet as scheduled.

Based on the current weather forecast, the Healing with the Ancestors Talk & Breeze of Simplicity program scheduled for Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday will be held as planned.

Staff that do not work remotely or are scheduled to work on campus, can work remotely. Staff that routinely work remotely are expected to continue to do so.

As a reminder, notifications will be sent by e-mail and the LiveSafe app.
