Shannon received a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Somatic Counseling with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy from Naropa in May of 2024. She is a child and family counselor at The Mariposa Center for Infant, Child, and Family Enrichment in Denver. Shannon blends a trauma-informed approach with creative arts and play therapy interventions and holds an existential therapeutic lens. She is a mother and a wife, and experienced a spiritual awakening during her time at Naropa, reconnecting her with her Christian faith.
Shannon is passionate about supporting and advocating for her clients both in and out of session. She provides professional trainings to Denver Public School faculty on trauma-informed care for their immigrant and refugee students, creating change within systems. She also offers workshops on co-regulation to young moms at The Hope House, and to caregivers with newborn babies.
