Certificate in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies

Psilocybin Facilitator Training Certificate Program

Eligibility Requirements

Open to advanced professionals in therapeutic fields like mental health, medicine, chaplaincy, social work, and other licensed practice areas, and Indigenous lineage carriers.

Open to those 21 years of age at time of program start, U.S. resident, high school diploma/equivalent, professional license in good standing (if applicable) as outlined in state regulatory models.

Curriculum Focus

Across all programs, our curriculum is deeply rooted in an intersectional, anti-oppression, and social justice lens, which is considered essential for the ethical delivery of psychedelic medicine.

Clinical competencies in the practice of psychedelic-assisted therapies, including ketamine and psilocybin, as well as an exploration of ceremonial plant medicine.

Foundational competencies in psilocybin facilitation designed within state regulatory frameworks, emphasizing a Healing Justice approach with a focus on harm reduction and peer support.

Program Format

Hybrid program format, with monthly live online sessions, bi-weekly clinical skills practice group meetings, asynchronous learning modules, residential retreats, and practicum opportunities.

Following the completion of the CPAT program, trainees interested in becoming a state (OR or CO) licensed psilocybin facilitator will need to complete additional steps prior to applying with the state.

Fully virtual program format featuring weekly live online classes, bi-weekly pod small group meetings, asynchronous learning modules, and optional practicum opportunities.

Following completion of the PFT program, trainees seeking to become a state (OR or CO) licensed psilocybin facilitator will need to complete additional steps prior to applying with the state, including a required 40-hour practicum.

Outcome/Role

Trainees gain a comprehensive education in psychedelic-assisted therapies, preparing them for clinical practice, research, advocacy, and integration support.

Trainees will have completed the state-regulatory didactic training for psilocybin facilitation and may complete practicum requirements to qualify for licensure in CO or OR.

Trainees receive psilocybin facilitation training with a focus on harm reduction and community care, designed to adhere to state regulatory models.

Trainees will have completed the state-regulatory didactic training requirement and will qualify for a 40-hr practicum experiential in CO or OR.

Naropa Campuses Closed on Friday, March 15, 2024

Due to adverse weather conditions, all Naropa campuses will be closed Friday, March 15, 2024.  All classes that require a physical presence on campus will be canceled. All online and low-residency programs are to meet as scheduled.

Based on the current weather forecast, the Healing with the Ancestors Talk & Breeze of Simplicity program scheduled for Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday will be held as planned.

Staff that do not work remotely or are scheduled to work on campus, can work remotely. Staff that routinely work remotely are expected to continue to do so.

As a reminder, notifications will be sent by e-mail and the LiveSafe app.
