Emily is a passionate holistic psychotherapist who sees humans as more than just a set of symptoms to treat. She has taught for Naropa’s MTC graduate program since 2022. Her formal education includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Biology, a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health from Naropa University, and post graduate training in Mind-Body Medicine and Biofeedback through Saybrook University. She is a licensed professional counselor(LPC) in Colorado and Michigan, and licensed as an addiction counselor (LAC) in Colorado. She also is a certified yoga instructor and medical assistant and has worked in healthcare since 2011.

Throughout her career, she have worked extensively with substance use disorders, mood disorders, severe mental illness, suicide ideation, and crisis intervention and management. My professional experience includes positions at Denver Health’s Psychiatric Emergency Department, UCHealth’s CeDAR: Center for Dependence, Addiction, and Rehabilitation, Valley View Hospital’s Youth Recovery Center and Crisis Team, West Pines Psychiatric Hospital, and Jefferson Center for Mental Health.

Currently, Emily dedicates her time to private practice, teaching at Naropa, and providing counseling for middle school students.

Naropa Campuses Closed on Friday, March 15, 2024

Due to adverse weather conditions, all Naropa campuses will be closed Friday, March 15, 2024.  All classes that require a physical presence on campus will be canceled. All online and low-residency programs are to meet as scheduled.

Based on the current weather forecast, the Healing with the Ancestors Talk & Breeze of Simplicity program scheduled for Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday will be held as planned.

Staff that do not work remotely or are scheduled to work on campus, can work remotely. Staff that routinely work remotely are expected to continue to do so.

As a reminder, notifications will be sent by e-mail and the LiveSafe app.
